If you have a brand new feeder - it is possible that the feeder can read the bar D and feed length and all that jazz from the machines control, but Im not sure if they doo that or not I think HAAS doo that, but I dont know if anyone else does that yet or not Am I helping --------------- Think Snow Eh Ox.

Until now we had a Hardinge pneumatic ram that shoved the bar out when you opened the collet.

There are no programs left in memory to use as a guide except the following sub.

My problem (right now) is that I dont understand the variables called, or how to set them.

M24 M21 M99 Then the macro will run the bar change routine on the barfeeder.

Once that is done - it will then call 8998 which is your Top Cut routine.:8998(TOP CUT MACRO) M22 G4X1.

G97 G98 M99 I set my TOP CUT position at my Z0 location for that part, so I dont feed out after the cut-off routine, but if you always cut off at just inside the chuck, then you would need to add a few lines to feed the bar out past Z0 in that macro as well.

M61 is what they used in one of my machines, and maybe M65 in the othern to call the load new bar routine.

I know that is set in the params, but would take me a while to search for it.

I thought that you called M61 to check and see if end of bar was reached.

But what if end of bar signal is not reached (as normally in between parts).

The program then would M21, then somehow tell the barfeed to feed so many inches of material, return to the program to close collet and continue Else how would it know if my part is 1 or 2 long And how does it communicate that to the bar feeder.

If the parts remaining count on the pendant is at 0, it should run the LOAD cycle when it sees the M61.

If I recall properly - you had some long parts eh How about you set your part length to 1 and see if that changes your issues.

One issue with this is that if you are trying to run 2 long parts from 1 bar, and you feed out at the end of the cycle, the parts counter will read 0 since there is not enough material to feed out again.

On my T51 - if I am in REPEAT mode - it will latch in (so to speak) and blow though that 0 once.

And when I push CYCLE START the next time - it will want to load a new bar since it sees an M61 and a 0 material count.

Dmg M65 Code Till I

In this case - I will kaap the barfeeder out of cycle and SINGLE BLOCK through the header code till I get past the M61, and then start the feeder, put the machine in AUTO and fire it up and walk away.

That may be too much info for now, or maybe not - depending on where you are stuck.

Now the macro that is in my TT65 will not latch in in REPEAT mode.

So I end up telling it that my EOB position is actually beyond the chuck face.

I have not looked into it yet, but I will likely change the macro in that other machine to this one that I like.
